This will not get rid of mono, but will make the symptoms less severe.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Salt water
  • Chloraseptic sore throat lozenges
  • 7up and water
  • Advil or ibuprofen
  • Gatorade
  • Vitamin C or Ester C
  • Good comfortable bed.
  • Medicated chest rub.
  • Chicken noodle soup

  1. Step 1

    First go to the doctor to see if you actually have mono ( they will have to do blood tests to figure out)

    Some of the symptoms are * Fever, sometimes up to 103 degrees Fahrenheit
    * Very sore throat
    * Swollen lymph glands
    * Headaches
    * Muscles that ache
    * Enlarged or swollen liver and spleen

  2. Step 2

    Gargle with salt water to get some of the mucus up out of your throat.
    Get plenty of bed rest.
    Try to sleep with your mouth closed
    Take Vitamin C to boost your immune system.
    Drink a a lot of water and 7up mixed together.
    Drink Gatorade to help rehydrate you, even though it hurts your throat to drink you need to keep hydrated.

  3. Step 3

    Take Advil to reduce your fever.
    Stay away from aspirin unless your doctor tells you to take it.
    Take mucinex to help get rid of the mucus.
    Try and stay out of your blankets and not overheat yourself.
    Helps to get a warm shower to clear your throat
    Gargle hydrogen peroxide mixed half with water.
    If your throat is sore spray Vick's oral relief spray so you can eat.
    Stay away from sports that could involve you getting hit in the liver which could rupture and make things worse.

  4. Step 4
    Stay in bed!!
    Stay in bed!!

    It is hard to eat hard thinks like chips, cookies, and other things.
    So eat a lot of chicken noodle soup to make your throat feel better and rehydrate yourself.
    When you start to feel better take it slow, and as soon as your fever goes away it is usually ok to go back to work or school.
    Wash your hands often, Cover your mouth and nose when you cough or sneeze, and keep utensils to yourself and wipe off the mouthpiece on your phone before letting anyone else use it.

  • Even though it hurts to eat and drink, you have to make sure to suck up the pain.
  • Search the internet for ways to make your feel better.
  • Click the ads on this page.
  • Do not take aspirin.
