Things You'll Need:
- vinegar
- lemon juice
- cinnamon
- fabric softener
- soap and washcloths

Step 1
To start with first wash your walls with vinegar and lemon (don't dowse them but let the walls soak it in. Have the windows open and let it dry.Use a cloth and try repeating this throughout the week at least twice .

Step 2
While your letting your walls dry boil some water and put a couple sticks of cinnamon and a sheet of fabric softener in the pot. This will bring a fresh aroma throughout your home (blocking out any of the cigarette smoke).

Step 3
If all else fells you may have to speak with your landlord about repainting and if you have carpet have it pulled up(don't hesitate to speak up you are paying for the space)

we bought an old house and the smell is everywhere, we left the vinegar out for several days and I think the problem is in the airducts

on 6/4/2009 How do you get cigarette smell out of old collectibles like books and stam collections? I used Fabreze air freshener. I thought it was a finer spray and wouldn't damage the items.Then I put them in a plactic container over night with a rag that I sprayed with Fabreze thinking that it might absorb some the the oder. They smell fragrant but still smell like old cigarettes. TIA
