Do you smoke? Do the walls in your home smell like cigarette smoke and you want to deodorize it? Or did you just buy a home that was previously owned by smokers and need to get rid of the smokey smell from the walls? Use these tips to help remove cigarette smoke from the walls in your home.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Wash your walls with vinegar to help remove cigarette smells. Dilute the vinegar with water, wring out the sponge with vinegar-water so it is just damp, and wipe down all the walls. Vinegar is a natural deodorizer that can help remove cigarette smell from the walls.

  2. Step 2

Use an Ozone machine to help remove cigarette smells from walls, ceilings, and floors. Ozone is a naturally occurring gas that surrounds the planet to protect from the sun's rays, but it also helps to deodorize. You can buy or rent an ozone machine to help remove odors, including cigarette smells, from your walls.

  3. Step 3

Paint your walls to help get rid of cigarette smells. If the above suggestions have not removed enough of the cigarette smell, the final resort is to paint the walls. Use a quality primer to seal over the cigarette smell on the walls. Then paint the walls.
