Things You'll Need:
- Neoprene gloves
- Safety Goggles
-
Step 1
To protect your skin: Wear cotton gloves when yousing sharp or abrasive tools. Wear latex gloves when working with paint. Wear neoprene gloves when handling solvents, strippers, and harash chemicals.
-
Step 2
To protect your eyes: Wear safety glasses when working with tools. Wear goggles to protect against dust and acrosol droplets when sanding, spraying, or painting over your head.
-
Step 3
To protect your lungs: Sand, paint, and strip outside, or cross-ventilate with at least two open windows or doors. If there is a danger of breathing dust, aerosols, or solvent fumes, filter the air with a respirator. Check product labels for the recommended type. Use a dust mask, cartiridge respirator, latex mask, lead mask, or sending mask when performing these tasks.
-
Step 4
Dust Maskes, also called particulate respirators, filter out dry particles and most non-oil based liquid droplets. Use a dust mask when sanding bare or painted wood (except lead-based paint), drywall and rusted surfaces.
