How to Apply Mascara

Applying mascara is fairly simple. If done properly it can really enhance the look of your eyes.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

• mascara
• eyelash curler(optional)
• mirror

1. One thing that really helps make the eyes appear more open is to use an eyelash curler on your eyelashes. If you use one, do this now before applying mascara.

2. If you want, you can apply a tiny bit of powder to your eyelashes. It will help to give your eyelashes more volume.

3. Take the mascara wand out of the tube. Try to wipe off any of the excess clumps on the brush while doing it. Let the wand dry for a few seconds.

4. While looking downward into a mirror, wiggle your brush back and forth a little at the base of your lashes to deposit the color on to your lashes. Starting at the root of your lashes, run the mascara wand upward through your lashes.

5. Holding your brush vertically, use the tip of your mascara wand to apply a little mascara to your lower lashes. Try to avoid smudging any under the eyes. Always let it dry before applying a second coat.

Tips & Warnings

• If you are going to use more than one coat, comb your eyelashes to remove any excess clumps.
• Instead of pumping the wand, try spinning it to get more mascara on the wand. Pumping it can cause the mascara to dry out faster.
• For a more natural look try using clear mascara on your eyelashes. You can also use it on your eyebrows for control.
• Never share eye makeup. You could end up sharing eye infections.
