Expand Your Music Taste Via Last.fm

If you're tired of just turning on the radio and listening to whatever is on, if you want to expand your taste and try new music, or if you're just plain bored then give this article a read.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Internet
  • AudioScrobble/Last.fm client
  • Optional: Last.fm Article
  1. Step 1

So instead of just listening to some boring internet radio, head over to Last.fm! The URL for the website is http://www.last.fm. Now that you're there you have a vast amount of options to explore.

  2. Step 2

What genre of music is your favorite? Try searching for the tag (a keyword used to described an artist) "classic rock" for example and you'll be showed the top artists (The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin) under that tag, and related tags as well (70s, 60s, blues rock etc).

  3. Step 3

Now if you like you could try picking an artist you may heard of but never listened to, or maybe you could listen to a familiar artist again as well.

  4. Step 4

If you're not so sure then fret not, you can just listen to the radio for a specific tag as well! Simply click "Classic Rock Radio" and feel free to listen to as much as you want.

  5. Step 5

Now to expand your taste, try listening to genres you never have before, or maybe listen to some more recent, or old artists and develop a taste for them! Of course if theres songs that you don't like that come up on the radio you can simply ban them from being played again.

Tips & Warnings
