Use The Flat Iron Correctly
Use The Flat Iron Correctly

This is what I learned in my journey with the flat iron.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A good shampoo
  • An even better conditioner
  • A product to protect your hair from the heat(free of alcohol or oils).
  • A good flat iron (ceramic/tourmaline).
  • A comb, a brush and hair pins.
  1. Step 1

Wash your hair and condition it. With a good conditioner the result are going to be way better, shinier hair and a lot of less frizz. Allow it to dry completely. Divide it in 2 sections(by the middle, the right and the left side of the head).

  2. Step 2

With the comb start taking parts of the hair starting from the bottom (not bigger than an inch). In every piece of hair you take apply the product that is made to protect hair from heat and comb it(this is very important, this way you keep your hair from frying). Straightening it with the comb or the brush star with the flat iron from the roots to the end applying a little pressure.

  3. Step 3

Do this with all your hair by little sections. After your hair is completely straight you can start making any effect you want in your hair.

Tips & Warnings
  • Always use a product to protect your hair. Once I made that mistake and I had to cut most of my hair.
  • Find out in which heat setting is best for your hair. Too much heat is gonna damage it and you'll have to cut it.
  • The risk of burning your skin is very high, specially if you are learning how to use the flay iron. Be careful with your scalp, fingers, hair, ears, neck, forehead and everything that could come in contact with the hot flat iron.
