How to Catch Bass on Plastic Worms
Catching bass on plastic worms is one of the most popular ways to catch these fish. The plastic worms are easy to use, can be hooked onto a single or double hook or a leaded or weight hook, or used with a sinker. As long as you work the worms in the right places at the right times, you are bound to catch a lot of fish.
Instructions

1
Slide the worm onto your hook. Thread the point of the hook through the head, out the thick part of the body and then back through the worm so part of the hook is exposed.
-
2
Tie the hook onto your line, use a sinker or lead-weighted hook if necessary. You need some kind of weight to get the worm to the bottom of deeper pools or to get it to sink through a weeded area.

3
Flip or cast the worm toward the bank of a pond or lake in a hole, or near a submerged structure like a tree stump, bank overhang or downed tree.
-
4
Slowly, slowly, slowly retrieve the worm and slightly jerk the rod tip up as you do so. Worms are not speed demons in the water, so pulling it in too fast will scare the fish. You simply want the worm to dance or walk across the bottom.

5
Set the hook when you feel a strike. Keep your rod in the ready position and don't wait very long before you set the hook. Bass will gulp the worm in one or two bites, so as soon as you feel one on, you can set the hook.

Tips & Warnings
Use different-length worms if you don't have success. Sometimes using a 4-incher instead of a 10-inch worm makes a huge difference.
