Step 1
Empire Style - Are flattering for almost any body type. It also helps those women with small busts, are bottom heavy or have a thick waist. Go glam by adding a pair of killer heels. Adding a wide belt or ribbon under the bust (similar to the picture) will also add interest.
-
Step 2
Wraps - Women with curvy figures look best in wrap dresses. The diagonal line of the wrap draws attention away from the stomach, the V neck shows off your cleavage (if you want!) while pulling the eye up toward your face. Accentuate with statement making accessories - necklaces, earrings, or bracelets.
-
Step 3
Lantern Sleeves - Haven't had a chance to tone up those arms just yet, lantern sleeves can be a great alternative.
-
Step 4
BebeSequins - Can be very fun! If head to toe is too much for you, try it in small double doses like just around the neckline and on your shoes.
-
Step 5
Metallic - Stick to knee length numbers in darker shades to avoid looking like a show-girl, pair with understated accessories. Is a metallic dress too bold for you - that's fine, you can still glam up a simple dress by wearing a few key metallic pieces be it your shoes, belt, jewelry or clutch.

on 3/29/2009 These are all good suggestions for New Years Eve dresses, or for any dress-up party, really. Good photos too.
