Pie is one of those indulgent desserts that nearly everyone loves, but not everyone can make from scratch. The time it takes to make the pie crust, filling and bake a pie can be exhausting. Fortunately, there are simple ways to make a pie with ready-made ingredients. Cherry pie is popular enough that you can easily find a can of cherry pie filling at the grocery store. Along with store-bought pie crusts, all you have to do is assemble, bake and enjoy. Does this Spark an idea?

Things You'll Need

  • 2 pre-made pie crusts, thawed
  • 2 21-oz. cans cherry pie filling
  • 1 tsp. milk or egg wash

Instructions

      Preheat the oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit.

      Place one of the pie crusts into the pie pan, gently pressing it into the bottom and sides of the pan.

      Pour the pie filling into the pan and use a spatula to evenly spread it out.

      Make four small slits near the center of the second pie crust for venting.

      Place the second pie crust on top of the pie filling and press the edges of both pie crusts together to seal.

      Brush the top of the pie with milk or an egg wash.

      Bake the pie in the oven for 40 to 45 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown. Allow the pie to cool for 1 hour before slicing and serving.

Tips & Warnings

  • Sprinkle sugar on top of the pie crust for more flavor and texture.

  • Cover the edges of the pie crust with strips of foil after 20 minutes in the oven to prevent the edges from browning too much.
