Learn how to make a simple kite string two different ways. Both very inexpensive.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Yoyo
  • Two small bamboo sticks
  • Yarn
  • Kite
  1. Step 1

Find a yoyo that has the sturdiest string. The great thing about using a yoyo is that the string is already preravelled on a stick and has plenty of string.

  2. Step 2

Take the first part of the string from the yoyo and attach it to the center wood plank on the kite. Tie it into a very sturdy knot. And voila! ...A very simple kite string.

  3. Step 3

If you would like a bigger handle to hold onto you could take two 6 inch bamboo sticks and glue them together back to back to make a very thick handle.

  4. Step 4

Take some yarn and attach one side to the middle center wood plank of the kite. Then take the other end of the yarn and tie a thick knot around the two bamboo sticks (Use as long of yarn as you would like, depending on how high you would like your kite to go). Then keep winding the yarn around the bamboo sticks until it's as tight as you like.
