Things You'll Need:
- 13 inch or bigger color tv.
- plywood
- 2x3x6 lumber
- screws
- paint
- arcade controller you get from toys-r-us with multiple games
-
Step 1
If you have that old 13 inch color tv or bigger and not sure what to do with it. How about building your own Arcade Machine. This is a great project for you and your kids.
-
Step 2
First you want to go to your local lumber store and get the plywood and 2x3x6's needed. I Would recommend picking from the scrap pile, it is cheaper and sometimes all you need. Once you have all your lumber remove the tv from its housing then take the measurements of your tv screen. Remember this is your own so build it to your own specifications. I used pictures off Arcade Machines websites.
-
Step 3
Once you have your measurements you can cut and build around your tv.
Now take your arcade controller and mount it into the board that your tv screen is mounted. Also mount your tv speakers into the same board above the screen. Make all of your connection from your arcade controller to your tv just like you would with any video game. Yellow to video input and red and white to the audio input. Once you have design you machine, paint it with your own colors. Good Luck

on 2/4/2009 Great idea, although the guide is a little brief. I have been working on my own DIY Arcade Machine and it is requiring more planning that I initially realized.
