How to Make Unique Mint Tin Wedding Favors
Plan the perfect wedding by adding unique touches throughout the reception, including your wedding favors. Create simple, yet stunning, favors for your guests to take home in commemoration of your special day. After you have selected your overall theme, you can select unique pieces that tie it all together, including your mint tins. Making your own wedding favors does not have to be a cumbersome task. Invite your bridesmaids to assist, pour some wine and enjoy an evening of crafting.
Things You'll Need
- Plain-top mint tins
- Pressed flowers and clovers, small pictures or scrapbooking items
- Paintbrush
- Decoupage glue
- Candies, assorted
- Satin ribbon

Select your overall theme for your wedding. The favors that you choose to adorn your tables should flow with that theme. For example, a summer wedding can include a specific floral theme or a 1930s theme can include pictures of fedoras and boas.

Select the items you wish to add to your plain-top mint tins. To create truly unique tins, select a variety of items to adorn your mint tins, such as various pressed flowers, clovers or tiny photos.

Use a paintbrush to add a small amount of decoupage glue onto the spot where you will attach the adornment.

Place your pressed flower or other adornment on top of the decoupage glue.

Apply a clear coat of decoupage on top of the pressed flower using a paintbrush. While waiting for it to dry, fill the tins with assorted mints or candies.

Tie a satin ribbon around the circumference of the mint tin. Place a small amount of decoupage glue underneath the bow to prevent the ribbon from slipping.

Use acrylic paints to further personalize your mint tins by painting initials, the date or a favorite quote on the tin.
