    Step 2
Using the hair dryer with diffuser attached, flip your head upside down. The best technique is to hold the hair dryer in one hand while you comb your fingers through your wet hair with the other. Hair dries quite efficiently this way. Continue until hair is about 50% dry. This is important as you need the hair to be damp to properly style it.

  3. Step 3

To give your hair maximum volume put in volumizing mousse or spray. For smoothness spray hair spray all over. Because your hair is damp you hair will not dry stiff. Instead, the hair spray will keep it smooth and there will be less flyaways. Run your fingers through you hair to distribute the product evenly.

  4. Step 4

Now comb out hair damp hair with a wide tooth comb. Be gentle – hair is weakest when wet. Use your finger to find your part.

  5. Step 5
Clip outer most layer of hair exposing the layer underneath.

You will blow dry your hair in sections. Taking a butterfly clip gather the top layer of your hair and clip it on top of you head leaving the bottom layer of hair exposed.

  6. Step 6
Use a round brush to curl hair under while blow drying hair.

Using a round brush curl hair under with the hair dryer diffuser positioned directly over the hair from the root to the end . Continue until this layer of hair is dry and move on to next layer. Repeat this technique for all sections of hair.

  7. Step 7
Use hair wax or hair pommade to tame unruly hair.

Now that hair is dry, smooth away remaining flyaways or frizz with hair pomade or wax. Be sure not to use a product that is too sticky in texture as this will weigh hair down and eliminate volume. Rub product between your palms to warm it then smooth it over your hair.

  8. Step 8
To create a piecey effect gently pull some hair pommade or wax through sections of hair.

If so desired, put some of the product between your fingers and gently pull it through the ends of your hair to create a piecey effect.

Finish with a light spraying of hair spray for hold.

Tips & Warnings
  • To keep your hair looking as sleek as possible use an anti-frizz shampoo and conditioner.
  • Finding the right brush for your hair is key to getting the perfect blow out for bob hair. Depending on the thickness of your hair will determine what size to buy, but generally speaking a small to medium size boar hair bristle brush with a ceramic center works best.
  • To keep hair from getting dried out from blow drying look for products that will protect hair from the heat.
