Whether you're looking to save money on Christmas gifts or just looking for a great and unique gift for the whole family, a Family MySpace Page is the perfect solution. Give the gifts of love and communication this year with a Family MySpace page that keeps your clan in touch year round.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Internet
  • Family Email Addresses
  • Time
  1. Step 1

Register for a free Myspace account. Choose a username that includes your family name. For example, "Henderson Family" or "Jones Family Space". Make sure you indicate that you want your account to be private and all comments must first be approved. This will keep your Myspace Family page free of pornography and spam.

  2. Step 2

Use the Myspace building tools to create a theme and design your whole family will enjoy.

  3. Step 3

Create family photo albums by using the upload feature on your Myspace photos page. Upload pictures of family members, new and gone by, and organize your photos into albums.

  4. Step 4

Create a Myspace group. Name your group after your Myspace Family page. This will create a forum for you and family members to make announcements and keep in touch on a group level. Make sure you set the forum to PRIVATE or you will end up with a page full of spam.

  5. Step 5

Edit your Myspace page with a warm welcome to family members and detailed instructions on how to reach the family group forum. Also let them know about the family photo albums you had added to the space.

  6. Step 6

Send Christmas ecard announcements to your friends and family. Include a link to your Family Myspace page as well as a link to the Myspace homepage so family members can register for a new account. Include a brief description of what the page is and what how you hope the family can use it to keep in contact throughout the year. Ask for family members to reply to your email with their Myspace user name so you can send friend requests to them.

  7. Step 7

Send snail mail Christmas card invitations to family members without a known email address. Include your email address and ask them to send you a message with their Myspace user name.

  8. Step 8

Send friend requests to all family members who respond with their Myspace ID.

  9. Step 9

When family members become friends, also send them an invitation to the private group you have created. Your family will have its own private forum to share news and keep in touch.

  10. Step 10

Make your free Christmas gift to the family a true value year round. Keep posting and updating blog entries. Be an active part of the group forum. Plan and announce family events. Keep current.
