Things You'll Need:
- 3/4 cup hot water or broth
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1/3 cup margarine
- 1/2 cup powdered milk
- 3 cups whole wheat flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- Cookie Cutters
- Rolling Pin
- Cookie Sheet
- Decrotive Tin and Bow (optional)
-
Step 1
In large bowl pour hot water or broth over the margarine. Stir in powdered milk, salt, and egg. Add the flour 1/2 cup at a time. Dough will start to form once you start adding the flour.
-
Step 2
Once all the ingredients are mixed together, knead the dough for a few minutes (about 4 minutes). Lightly flour your working area and roll out the dough to 1/2 inch thickness. Dip the cookie cutters in flour and cut out the biscuits. Keeping with the holiday theme use shapes such as Christmas trees, stars, gingerbread men/women, and also bones, paws and dogs.
-
Step 3
Bake at 325 degrees for 50 minutes in a greased cookie sheet. Cool the biscuits. Makes about 1 1/4 pounds of biscuits. Put biscuits in a decrative tin and tie a big bow around it.
