Things You'll Need:
- 2 Tbs. olive oil
- 1 lb. Ground Turkey
- 1 clove of garlic
- 1 medium onion (chopped)
- 2 green peppers (chopped)
- 1 diced jalepeno pepper (optinal)
- 1 15oz can tomato sauce
- 1 15oz can red kidney beans
- 1 15oz can chopped tomatoes (with juice)
- 2 tsp ground cumin
- 2 tsp chili powder
-
Step 1
Brown the ground turkey and the chopped clove of garlic in olive oil, drain and put in crock pot.
-
Step 2
Chop up the onion, peppers and place on top of meat in crock pot. You can add some chopped jalapeno peppers here, too if you like a spicy chili.
-
Step 3
Pour the sauce, tomatoes and beans in, too, with all of the juices. I never drain the beans for this recipe, and I think the liquid is important for this dish. Finish with Seasonings, be liberal on the chili powder!
-
Step 4
Stir it all up, and let it cook in the crock pot on high for about 4 hours, 7-8 hour on low. This can be frozen, too, and it thaws out great!

on 4/19/2009 This looks yummy. I never really had much use for a crock pot until now. Thanks.

on 1/3/2009 Even though it seems odd to use the bean juice, I always do for this recipe. It gives the chile the correct amount of liquid, but if you don't want to, I'm sure it would not make a big difference...

on 1/2/2009 This looks great! I haven't tried it yet, but I like the ingredients. I am not sure about mixing the juice from the canned beans. I might try soaking my beans fresh from a bag. I like the idea of freezing the chili for a cold day. It seems like a pretty cold winter here so far.
