How to Build a Website Slideshow
A slideshow can be a useful tool for driving new visitors and bringing back old ones to your website. Having one of these on a personal blog can also be a fun way to show pictures from a vacation, party or just your daily life. Building a slideshow can be as easy as "point and click."

Create an account at Slide.com. Once you are logged onto the site, click the "Make a Slideshow" tab to begin.

Start by choosing the music for your slideshow. Scroll down to the "Customize your Design" heading and you'll see a list of songs in the box below. Scroll through the listed songs or click the "View More Music/Videos" link to find more. Click on a song to choose that song for your slideshow or click "Remove" to have a silent slideshow.

Click the "Upload" tab in the "Upload your own Images" box to begin adding pictures to your slideshow. Search through the files on your computer and add any pictures you want to your slideshow. You can change the captions for these pictures at the bottom of the page by clicking on the text box located beneath the pictures.

4
Select the "Styles" tab underneath the "Customize your Design" heading to decide how you want your pictures to appear in your slideshow. You can choose from 15 different styles, select "View more" to find even more styles and choose how fast the pictures change from one to another by clicking the drop box located next to the "Speed" heading.
-
5
Choose the "Skins" tab to place a border around your slideshow. Again, you can choose from the 15 that appear in the box or find other options by clicking the "View more" link. You can also click the "Make Your Own" link to create your own skin. This will allow you to upload a picture that will become the skin for your slideshow.
-
6
Click the "Themes" tab to add animated effects to your slideshow. These effects will go directly over your pictures throughout the slideshow. As with Styles and Skins, you can click the "View more" link if none of the themes listed interest you. You also have the option of not selecting any theme at all.
-
7
Use the "Background" tab to change the color of your slideshow. Once you click this tab, a black box will appear to the left of the tab. Click on this box and you will see various colors to choose from. Simply click on one of the colors to change the background of your slideshow.
-
8
Change the look of your pictures by using the "Effects" tab. You can choose black and white, old film or one of 13 other options. Click through the different effects to find one that you like. Preview it in the slideshow at the top of the page to determine if you want to use it.
-
9
Click the "Size" tab to change the size of your slideshow. You can choose from three presets or type in the width and height for your slideshow in the text boxes found to the left of the tabs.
-

Click the green "Save" tab at the bottom of the page when you are finished with your slideshow. From here, you will have to choose whether or not you want to sign up on the Slide website. If you choose not to sign up, you can still use the slideshow you just created. However, you won't be able to log onto Slide and edit your slideshow.
-
11
Find the right code you need to place the slideshow on your website. Click the "More" tab in the bottom left portion of the page to find codes for 23 different websites. You can also click the "can't find what you're looking for? Try here!" link. This is where you will find codes and instructions for placing the slideshow on your particular website.
