Things You'll Need:
- ornaments
- decorating ideas
- a room size tree- natural or artificial
-
Step 1
sea of lightsStart with the lights. Lighting can be a subtle, eye-catching way of highlighting your decorations. LED - (low energy use)lighting is a safe option that comes in a variety of colors, could be one color per strings or mixed colors. Weave them in and out of the branches evenly throughout the tree, even have some fun with it
-
Step 2
The garland should be placed next. Beginning at the top, loosely wrap the garland around your tree, as you don't want to have a strangled looking tree. Let it drape between branches as you wrap, that will give the tree a sense of reach and big.
-
Step 3
Next, add ornaments, starting with the largest and the heaviest on the bottom. Use hooks or yarn to hang them from branches, placing them so they hang freely and face the room.
-
Step 4
After each category was hung, step back and look at the tree to make sure you've got them spaced evenly. Then add the next type of ornament, again spacing them as evenly as possible and stepping back occasionally to check placement. Place some ornaments within the branches, close to the trunk too to create some depth. (like the 3D)
-
Step 5
Fill in bare spots with festive ornaments, metallics are favorite for the holiday season. Whether you need to add a few finishing touches to fill out a large tree, you should look for different ornaments - in colors and shapes. If you're using tinsel, drape it a few strands at a time over the branch tips.

on 12/16/2008 Yes! Of course, if you have young children, there really isn't too much of a process - just put them on.
