FOUR SEASONS PUNTA MITA GREEN SALSA RECIPE!

We had the best green salsa on our vacation to Mexico!
We had to ask the hotel for the secret recipe so that we could
make it for our friends and family at home.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 12 Green tomatoes
  • 4 Serrano chilies
  • 1/4 Onion
  • 1 small clove of Garlic (diced)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  1. Step 1

Preparation: This is a very easy recipe and you will impress your friends and family for sure! When i make this at home, i serve it warm. I blend it right before my guests arrive and serve it warm.= with tortilla chips.

    Gather your ingredients.

At your local supermarket locate "green tomatoes." You might have a hard time finding green tomatoes so ask your local grocer for a small tomato called Tomatillos. When you purchase tomatillos, try to find the smallest ones you can. The smaller the tomatillo, the better the flavor.

Boil the tomatoes, chilies and the onion until they are fully cooked.

  2. Step 2

Place the tomatoes and the chilies and the onion in a blender. Add the garlic and the salt.

  3. Step 3

Avoid pouring in more water than necessary into the blender. Blend for approx. 10 seconds.

  4. Step 4

Serve. For added flavor add a few spoos of diced onion and a few spoonfuls of chopped cliantro, raw into the sauce.

Tips & Warnings
  • This Salsa is commonly known Salsa Ranchera if used red tomatoes.
  • If it is made with Green tomatoes (commonly called tomatillos) it is called Salsa Verde.
  • make sure you are aware of how hot your chili peppers are. Don't mistake serano chilies for jalapeno peppers
