Want to be calmer and more in control of yourself? Try a little self-hypnosis. That's right ... you can safely put yourself in a better frame of mind, let your troubles go and feel better! Forget what you thought hypnosis was - you're not going to cluck like a chicken or embarrass yourself in front of people. You're going to learn a way to take better control of yourself - through relaxing hypnosis technique.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Whether you're anxious, worried or just need some rest, sometimes your body just can't seem to relax. Set aside some quiet, alone time for yourself. Make sure that you aren't going to be interrupted - take the phone off the hook if you need to, and get comfortable on your bed, couch, or cozy chair.

  2. Step 2

Close your eyes and try to remember a time and place where you were totally relaxed and calm. For this example, I'm going to use my own totally relaxed and calm place - a warm jacuzzi from my last vacation - but you can choose any place that works for you.

  3. Step 3

In your mind, step into the warm, bubbling water. Second by second, remember all the details about how you felt in the warm, bubbling water. Feel the warmth and the wetness, and smell the chlorine as your body is gently pushed by the water. Concentrate on how the warmth and the water feels, and don't hurry. While you're relaxing in the water, you can let your troubles go ... just concentrate on the soothing, relaxing feeling.

  4. Step 4

When it's time to get out of the water (or come back from your totally relaxed and calm place), imagine yourself climbing out and drying off, and then open your eyes. You should feel renewed and rested.
