Do you love cookies? Do you like to make cookies? Do you know other people who like cookies? You should try organizing a cookie swap this holiday season! A cookie swap is a fun way to try many different homemade cookies from friends or coworkers, as well as to show off your favorite cookie recipe. This article will explain how to organize a cookie swap.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A favorite cookie recipe
  • Enough ingredients to double or triple it
  1. Step 1

Create a sign up sheet for the cookie swap. Everyone who would like to participate should sign up. Let people know what day the cookie swap will take place, and of course where it will take place (such as a common lunchroom or workroom, or someone's home during a holiday party). Make sure you have a deadline on the sheet so people can make up their mind and answer in a timely manner. The cookie swap won't work out with people who sign up late.

  2. Step 2

Count how many people have signed up for the cookie swap once the deadline arrives. Let's say that 25 people signed up. Create a note that lets people know there are 25 people participating in the cookie swap, and ask them to bring in 50 cookies on the set date. This way everyone will get 2 cookies. Make the note festive for the cookie swap notice by using colored paper and holiday clip art.

  3. Step 3

Bake cookies! Make the number of cookies that are designated, plus a few extra for your family if you wish. You only need to make one kind of cookie. Since you are swapping, you will end up with a wide variety by the end of the cookie swap (in this example, 25 different kinds of cookies).

  4. Step 4

Set out your cookies on the day of the cookie swap. People will each take 2 cookies (you don't all need to be present at the same time if you eat lunch at different times; this can be on the honor system). Enjoy! Tips & Warnings
  • You might ask people to bring copies of their recipe.
  • You might ask people to divide up the cookies into plastic bags for people to grab during the swap (2 cookies in each bag).
  • You might mention on the note that people could make a few extra cookies if they wish for "non-swappers" to enjoy. Just be sure to clearly label which tray non-swappers are to take from!
