How to Relieve Your Nighttime Bronchitis or Congested Cough Naturally
In this article, I will give you what has been the most astounding relief of a persistent nighttime cough I have ever experienced! Although there are several types of Bronchitis due to severity, I am only addressing that which is common for a regular bronchial cough during an occasional cold. Please see your doctor if you have more severe symptoms as defined on Wikipedia:
*Acute bronchitis, caused by viruses or bacteria and lasting several days or weeks OR
*Chronic bronchitis, a persistent, productive cough lasting at least three months in two consecutive years.
We will deal with the cough that seems to be less frequent during the day, but will not allow you to sleep at night. I have had much experience in my life with Bronchitis. I am a patient, not a doctor, so please take this advice with caution. If you happen to be allergic to garlic, YOU DO NOT WANT TO USE THIS METHOD!
I was so impressed by it's effectiveness, I felt I MUST allow others to experience the benefit of sleeping too!

First, do all the regular natural healing regimens you are used to doing. Make sure you are getting rest, staying away from sugar and dairy products, drinking plenty of fluids, taking in chicken broth to help break up the mucus, and taking any vitamin supplements you have found to be helpful with a regular cold.

Buy top quality garlic from either your local health food store or the internet. Make sure it's odorless and has the allicin content and vitamins and minerals of fresh garlic. The garlic pills I have are about 200mg of garlic per capsule. Please realize that all garlic pills are not equal. You must get the good stuff for this to have full benefit.

Take one pill right before you lay you head down on your pillow at night. That's it! It took me about 10 minutes to clear out any coughing I was already doing before I laid down to sleep but then I began to relax and my cough minimized until I was able to drift off to sleep. I slept the whole night without needing further cough remedies! If you do wake up half way through the night, take another garlic and repeat.

Tips & Warnings
Before you settle in for sleep, make sure you have set up a little "station" by your bed. This will keep you from having to get up so much during the night. Include a flashlight, a Kleenex box, extra garlic pills, and of course, a water bottle or glass of water to sip on through the night, and a pad of paper and pencil to jot down those thoughts before drifting to sleep, if needed. You might also desire to have cough drops close by just in case the garlic doesn't work as thoroughly as it did for me.
Consider having a humidifier on in the room to keep the room from getting too dry, as happens frequently when there is central heating in the home. This can help keep humidity in the air, keeping mucus from becoming thicker in your lungs and sinuses.
Cover windows or use your block out shades to help you fall asleep. When you are sick, you need all the help you can get in creating a peaceful atmosphere.
Consider having background noise, like an ambient sound therapy machine which delivers either white noise or a variety of natural sounds such as a rainforest or ocean waves.
Do not use this information to diagnose or treat yourself without getting proper medical attention.
Always consult your doctor if your symptoms persist or change in nature.
This garlic suggestion does not replace antibiotics or suggest in any way that it will heal your bronchitis. Sometimes you must wait through the natural course of bronchitis (as with a virus) but many times, bacterial bronchitis must be treated with antibiotics. Please see your doctor if you've had symptoms longer than what seems normal.
