Step by step, how to perform the World Taekwondo Federation form Taeguk Il (1) Jang.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A space
  • Yourself
  1. Step 1

    From junbie (ready) stance, step to the left into a left-leg-forward walking stance, and execute a left downward block.

  2. Step 2

    Step forward into a right-leg-forward walking stance, and execute a right middle punch.

  3. Step 3

    Turn 180 degrees to the right, and step into a right-leg-forward walking stance, and execute a right downward block.

  4. Step 4

    Step forward into a left-leg-forward walking stance, and execute a left middle punch.

  5. Step 5

    Turn 90 degrees to the left, and step into left-leg-forward long stance, and execute a left downward block followed by a right middle punch.

  6. Step 6

    Turn 90 degrees to the right, and step into a right-leg-forward walking stance, and execute a left out-to-in block.

  7. Step 7

    Step forward into a left-leg-forward walking stance, and execute a right middle punch.

  8. Step 8

    Turn 180 degrees to the left, and step into a left-leg-forward walking stance, and execute a right out-to-in block.

  9. Step 9

    Step forward into a right-leg-forward walking stance, and execute a left middle punch.

  10. Step 10

    Turn 90 degrees to the right, and step into a right-leg-forward long stance, and execute a right downward block, followed by a left middle punch.

  11. Step 11

    Turn 90 degrees to the left, and step into a left-leg-forward walking stance, and execute a left upper block.

  12. Step 12

    Right front kick to a right-leg-forward walking stance, and a right middle punch.

  13. Step 13

    Turn 180 degrees to the right, and step into a right-leg-forward walking stance, and execute a right upper block.

  14. Step 14

    Left front kick to a left-leg-forward walking stance, and a left middle punch.

  15. Step 15

    Turn 90 degrees to the right, and step into a left-leg-forward long stance, and execute a left downward block.

  16. Step 16

    Step forward into a right-leg-forward long stance, and execute a right middle punch (kihap).

    Turn 180 degrees into junbie (ready) position. End.

Tips & Warnings
  • All stances going left and right are walking stances, while all stances going forward and backward are long stances.
  • All punches are middle punches
  • The form is in the shape of an I with a line running through the middle.
  • You will not end the form where you started. You will have to cheat a little by stepping forward from the end into junbie (ready) position.
