Retweeting is when you want to pass along a tweet that you received on Twitter. For example, someone tweets (writes) something highly fascinating, something that you think your followers will enjoy, so you retweet it. It is a way of sharing information, while giving credit to the source of the information.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Internet
  1. Step 1

Copy the text and the URL that you want to retweet.

  2. Step 2

Hit reply arrow next to the person's tweet that you are retweeting. This will automatically pop up the person's Twitter handle in the What are you doing box.

  3. Step 3

Paste the tweet in the "What are you doing? box.

  4. Step 4

Before the @ sign, type RT or Retweet. Most people type RT because Retweet counts as 6 more characters against your allotted 140.
    Example: RT @
    Exampe: Retweet @

  5. Step 5

Tips & Warnings
  • Only retweet something that strikes you as really interesting that your fellow Twitterers will enjoy.
  • This manual method of retweeting could change if Twitter adds a Retweet button.
  • You can also try Tweetdeck or Twhirl applications.
  • Make sure there's a space after the RT so the original tweeter gets credit
