How to Freeze Tomato Sauce

Many people are unable to finish an entire jar of sauce and may not want to finish the jar by the end of the week. Some people may just have an abundance of tomatoes grown in their garden and want to freeze them to be used in the winter. The good news is tomato that products freeze beautifully.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Tomato sauce
  • Vacuum sealer
  • Vacuum sealer bag
  • Sealable bag
  • Permanent pen
  1. Step 1

    Gently pour the tomato sauce into the vacuum sealer bag. Seal the sauce in the vacuum sealer.

  2. Step 2

    After the tomato sauce is vacuum sealed, mark the bag with a permanent pen. Write the date you sealed the bag on the top of the bag.

  3. Step 3

    Store the tomato sauce in the freezer for up to three months.

  4. Step 4

    Seal your tomato sauce in a sealable bag if you don't have a vacuum sealer.

  5. Step 5

    After pouring the sauce into the bag, press as much air out of the bag. Mark the date you placed the bag into the freezer with a permanent pen.

Tips & Warnings
  • Keep the tomato sauce frozen in the freezer for no more than three months.
  • If you leave air in any of the bags while the sauce is frozen, you may risk freezer burn. Freezer burn may cause the sauce to taste foul
