Step 1
Choose a program. The easiest way to design business cards is to use a business card template. If you have Microsoft Office on your computer, there is a business card template located in the Publisher program. You can also use companies such as Business Card Land which provide free online templates for business cards.

Step 2
Decide what information you will include. You should typically include your name, title, email and business address on a business card. Sometimes companies will choose to include their business slogan. Decide which pieces of information you would like to include on the cards.
-
Step 3
Choose a color scheme. If your business has company colors, it's best to use these for the business cards; this will tie your business cards into your company's branding efforts. However, if you don't have company colors, you should choose two colors to use in your business cards. Anything over two colors can be distracting.
-
Step 4
Have someone proof your business cards. After you are done designing your business cards, have a co-worker or family member proof the cards. This will help avoid embarrassing mistakes before the cards are printed.
-
Step 5
Decide how you will print your business cards. You have two options when printing business cards. You can use your home printer or send the file to a printer to print the cards for you. It will cost you about $10 or less to print out cards at home and the quality will be good. However, if you have a printing company complete the project, the quality will be higher, but it may cost $50 or moredepending on the quantity of cards you produce.
