How to Create a Quiz for a Website
Completing a quiz on your blog, website or social networking profile page can be a lot of fun for your friends or any random person who visits that page. Before you place the quiz on your website, though, you must first create the quiz. Fortunately, you don't have to know anything about computer programming in order to make a quiz. Here are a couple of websites that make it very easy to create and place a quiz on your blog or website.
Instructions
-
Using "Quiz Your Friends"
-
1
Log onto the Quiz Your Friends home page.
-
2
Enter the name of your quiz, your name (doesn't have to be your full name) and a valid email address in the appropriate boxes.
-
-
3
Select the number of quiz questions by clicking the circle above the appropriate number. Click the "Continue" tab to begin creating the quiz.
-
4
Enter your first question in the text box underneath the "Question 1" heading. Then, enter 4 different possible answers in the boxes found beneath the "Answers" heading. Click the circle next to the "Correct Answer" heading for the right answer to your question.
-
5
Click the "Next Question" link and repeat the last step. Continue doing so until you have finished with all of the questions. Click the "Continue" tab to proceed to the next step.
-
6
Add any special comments for the quiz takers based upon how well they do on the quiz. Do this by typing in the text boxes located next to the percentage categories. This is optional. Click the "Continue" tab when you're finished or if you've chosen to skip this step.
-
7
Read over your quiz on the next page to ensure that everything is correct. Click the "Edit" link next to a question if you have found a flaw in the quiz or click the "Continue" tab to get to the final page.
-
8
Find and copy the correct link for your website. There are seven sites listed in the box on the page. You can also copy and paste the embed code in the text box at the bottom if you are posting the quiz on a different website. Click the "Email" link to email the embed information to your email address.
Using "Quiz Box"
-
9
Go to the Quiz Box home page.
-
10
Locate the "Build Your Own Quiz" tab in the bottom right corner of the page and click on that tab.
-
11
Use the drop down boxes found on the next page to set up the basics for your quiz. In the first box, choose how many questions you want there to be in your quiz. Decide how many answer choices you want there to be per question in the second box.
-
12
Enter the title of your quiz in the text box below the "choices" drop down box. You can leave the next text box as is.
-
13
Click the "Click Here to Make Your Own Quiz" tab to begin making your quiz.
-
14
Use the two text boxes at the top of the next page to change your quiz name and enter a message that will appear to quiz takers at the start of the quiz. Both of these are optional.
-
15
Enter your questions and answers in the two boxes below. For each question, you will type in the actual question in the first text box at the top. Then, enter the possible answers in the text boxes underneath. To the right of the answers, determine how many points those answers are worth. This is how those taking your quiz will be "graded." Do this for each question in your quiz.
-
16
Click the circle next to the "Email me the HTML source" option at the very bottom of the page. Then, click the "Continue" tab.
-
17
Copy the code at the top of the page. This is the code you will use to put the quiz on your particular website. You can also email the code to any email address by entering the address in the text box found below the code. Once you've done this, click the "Send the source" tab and the code will be emailed.
