How to Install a Wild Blue Satellite Dish
Wild Blue is one of the leading satellite Internet service providers, allowing individuals to receive high speed Internet access regardless of where they live. The installation of the Wild Blue satellite dish is relatively simple, though the fact that it may require some very specific adjustments to ensure a good satellite signal means that the company only allows properly trained technicians to do the actual installation. Wild Blue does offer training to those who qualify to allow them to sell Wild Blue units and perform their own installations; what follows are the basic steps that they will go through during the installation process.

1
Choose a location with a clear southern view. This ensures that trees, structures and other objects aren't going to block or otherwise interfere with the satellite signal once the dish is installed. Because of the positioning of the satellite in orbit, an unobstructed southern view is required in order to establish satellite Internet service.
-
2
Locate a stable surface that the satellite dish can be attached to, generally a portion of the rooftop near the edge. The dish is relatively small, even in comparison to some other satellite dish receivers, so the surface doesn't have to be able to bear an extreme amount of weight to be acceptable for mounting the Wild Blue satellite receiver.

3
Attach the mounting plates to the chosen surface, tightening them carefully so as to avoid damage. The preliminary positioning of the satellite dish receiver should occur now, connecting it to the mounting plate with the dish pointed toward the open southern view.
-
4
Connect the satellite dish's cables. Be sure to let a portion of the cable dangle over the edge of the roof or other stable object so that it can be run into the house. The connections on the cables should be sealed tightly so as to prevent any accidental loosening or any damage to the cable itself from exposure to weather.
-
5
Finish the installation, making the final adjustments to the dish's position so that it is lined up properly to receive the satellite signal. The portion of the cable that was left dangling should be secured properly to the eves and side of the house, a small hole being drilled near a window in order to bring the cable inside and finish setting up the Internet connection.
