Some individuals want more coverage from their makeup than a mineral powder can provide. However, many manufactures don't offer liquid mineral makeup. But mixing your own liquid makeup is very easy and doesn't take much time. And you can easily blend a lightweight tinted moisturizer or a full coverage heavier foundation. Here's how to make liquid mineral makeup.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Select a mineral makeup powder. The most important ingredent in your liquid mineral makeup is the powder you select. This will be the ingredent you blend to create a light tinted mosurizer or a more heavy foundation. The Organic Make-Up company, Monove Company and Mione Group all offer natural mineral powder.

  2. Step 2

Create a cream-based mineral makeup. Select your favorite cream-based facial lotion to create a heavy liquid foundation. Add two teaspoons of mineral powder to a quarter cup of facial cream. Once you've mixed the foundation thoroughly, you can use it right away or store it for later use.

  3. Step 3

Create a lotion-based mineral makeup. For a lighter foundation, use your favorite facial lotion. Add two teaspoons of mineral powder to a quarter cup of lotion. Mix the foundation well with every use to avoid separation.

  4. Step 4

Use aloe vera to create a more natural foundation. You can create an all-natural liquid mineral makeup with aloe vera gel. Add a quarter cup of aloe vera gel and two teaspoons of the powdered mineral makeup. Mix well and use or store for future use.

  5. Step 5

Store makeup in a resealable container. Purchase a four- to eight-ounce container to store your liquid mineral makeup. You may need to mix the makeup before each use to prevent separation. Keeping your foundation in a tightly stored container will also protect it from bacteria growth.

Tips & Warnings
  • Experiment to get the right shade. Mixing your own liquid mineral makeup allows you to blend the perfect shade. Experiment with a couple OF different mineral makeup powders to get the right color for your skin tone.
  • Mix liquid mineral makeup monthly. It's important to mix a new batch of foundation monthly to prevent loss of color pigment and bacteria growth. Also sanitize the storage container by using your dishwasher or vinegar and water.
