How to Attend Events at Atlanta's Philips Arena

Philips Arena is an indoor entertainment facility in Atlanta, Georgia, that is home to the Thrashers NHL hockey team and Hawks NBA basketball team. In addition to sporting events, Philips Arena hosts popular concerts and entertainment shows.

1. Pick an event to attend. Philips Arena offers an updated event calendar on the website, and schedules can also be viewed through Ticketmaster's website. Popular past events have included Tina Turner, Billy Joel and Elton John's FACE TO FACE tour, sports events, Coldplay and Bon Jovi.

2. Study Philips Arena's seating chart. For different events, Philips Arena may change the seating set-up to accommodate over 20,000 attendees. Check out the 3-D seat view on Philips Arena's website before you buy your tickets and study how tiered ticket pricing will affect your seating.

3. Purchase admission tickets. For major shows, such as AC/DC or Britney Spears, tickets can sell-out very quickly. Visit Ticketmaster's website (or call 800-326-4000) frequently to ensure an opportunity to buy tickets to the event of your choice.    Get to Philips Arena. If driving to downtown Atlanta, Philips Arena is located next to the CNN Center at 1 Philips Drive, Atlanta, GA 30303. However, with heavy traffic and construction in metro Atlanta, many people choose to use Atlanta's transportation system, MARTA (exit at the Philips Arena stop on the East/West train). Besides the benefit of saving money on gas and parking fees, MARTA offers frequent train service and conveniently drops you off right inside the Arena.

5. Attend Philips Arena event. Oftentimes, doors open at least an hour before start time. While you're waiting, grab a snack and drink from the many concession stands, play games at Interactive Alley or purchase event merchandise.
