Things You'll Need:
- A computer and internet connection.
- A person to search for or a community to search.
-
Step 1
Visit the U.S. Department of Justice National Sex Offender public Website (see resources). Read the terms of use and click "agree" to enter the site.
-
Step 2
Enter the first and last name of the person you are looking for or click on advanced search to enter location formation such as state, city and zip code. You can use the location option to narrow a search to a specific location, or leave it blank to see a list of all convicted sex offenders currently registered in the area.
-
Step 3
The search results page will list names of individuals that meet the search criteria. It also may list other aliases of the person. Click on a name to view details about the sexual crimes he or she was convicted of. Information listed includes crime, conviction date, home address, vehicle description, physical description and a mugshot of the person.

on 3/25/2009 This is really interesting. I've heard about this before but I though for some reason that you had to pay to get the full results. Very interesting and use for technology. I suppose if I was a parent I'd probably already be aware of this site.
