How to Draw Cyclops From X-Men
When a blast of energy screams across a comic book panel blasting a villain to smithereens, it can only be the work of Cyclops, the leader of the X-Men. Cyclops uses his daring, skill and natural charisma to lead the stalwart band of mutants to ever greater heroics. This article will show you how to use basic shapes and transform them into your very own picture of Cyclops.

1
Begin by drawing a skeletal frame for cyclops. Start with an oval for the head, a rectangular shape for the chest and a triangular shape for his pelvis. Add arms and legs with lines. Create the spine with a line from chest to pelvis. Block out the knees and elbows with small circles. The hands and feet can be drawn with ovals. Make the right side oval pointed, as Cyclops's hand will be pointing.

Add a cross shape inside the head. This will help to mark out where the eyes will be and gives the face more consistent structure.

Begin adding details to the frame. Create the facial details with parallel lines across the eyes for Cyclops' mask. Add the nose and mouth with bent lines. Create the hood of the mask with a line running down the cheek area. Add a belt with parrallel lines across the waist. Add a circle to the middle of this with an "x" in the middle of it.

Ink the entire drawing. Let the ink dry. Erase all of the pencil. Add shadows for depth and realism under the left side fist. Darken uncer the arms and slightly onto the chest. Add shadow under the chin and around the bottom of the eye mask. Add small shadows under the knees and on the side of the right side foot. There you have it! Your own version of Cyclops, the heroic leader of the X-Men!

Tips & Warnings
Grab a couple issues of X-Men and use them as reference to refine your drawing.
Be sure to let the ink dry before erasing your pencil or the ink will smudge.
