How to Get Back into the Work Mindset After the Holidays
After you have had days off from your job thanks to the holidays, it can be a bit difficult to dive headfirst into your workload. Playing with new gifts, eating holiday leftovers and curling up in a warm bed may seem just a bit more enticing. Before you head back to the office after the holidays, consider these methods of getting yourself back into the work mindset.

Prepare mentally a little bit each day before going back to work. While you should absolutely enjoy the holidays, tell yourself each day that you have to go back to work in however many days, and that being prepared to work is a must. This will also help you avoid feeling as if your return to work has crept up out of nowhere.

Start your work as soon as you get into the office. While there may be the temptation to dawdle and procrastinate, that won't get anything done, and won't get you back in the work mindset any sooner. Social-networking sites have messages and pictures about the holidays, so instead of working, you may be more interested in catching up on that information. When you chat with your coworkers about the holidays, it can prevent you from getting your work done. Leave the reading of social-networking sites and hobnobbing with coworkers until after work hours, so you can better get into the work mindset.
