Do you remember the paper snowflakes you made as a child? Engage your child or your inner "child" and have a fun afternoon making paper snowflakes.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Fold paper into a triangle leaving about a 1 inch strip unfolded at the bottom.

  2. Step 2

Cut off bottom 1 inch strip to leave a triangle.

  3. Step 3

Fold into a smaller triangle, pressing down the edges

  4. Step 4

Fold lower corner into the middle, pressing down the edges.

  5. Step 5

Flip and do the same with the other side. Lower corners will look like 2 tails.

  6. Step 6

Cut off bottom tails - leaving a more skinny triangle. Press down the edges again.

  7. Step 7

Cut small triangles or shapes out of the sides. You can even snip off the top point. To make more intricate designs, use cuticle scissors.

  8. Step 8

Unfold carefully. Now you have a beautiful hand made snowflake to hang in your window. Kids will enjoy this craft, as every snowflake is unique to the person cutting.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can add glitter or use colored paper to make festive
  • supervise young children with scissors

on 12/22/2008 Yes! We did this all the time and I did it with my kids. Thannks for jogging the memory; time to show my grandkids how to make snowflakes. Though here in Minnesota they have been coming ready-made quite a bit in the last few days.
