Snow plow lifts are an tool needed during the wintery months. Whether the snow lays an inch or six feet, snow is plowed in numerous ways. However, one of the most useful methods is with an ATV. Using an ATV snow plow lift can be done witha little knowledge and practice.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • ATV
  • Snow plow
  1. Step 1

Angle the plow towards the side the you want to deposit the snow (either right or left). Make the angle about 45 to 60 degrees.

  2. Step 2

Lift the plow as low to the ground as possible, do not have it sit on the ground, for this will cause the plow to chip, crack, or break. Leaving about an inch of the ground will work great. Most plows are manual, or based on a handle mechanism, so simply lift/lower the handle.

  3. Step 3

Get the ATV in motion by pressing the gas pedal. Try to keep the speed slow, but enough that you will not get stuck in the snow. This is the most difficult part of the process, for if you go too fast or slow, you will end up spinning out of control. If you accidentally give too much gas, just let go of the pedal, and DO NOT press the breaks.

Tips & Warnings
  • When you start to plow the snow, and find that the snow is too high, plow a few feet, then back up about three feet, then start plowing again. Continue the process until all snow is plowed.
  • Do not use breaks in snow! This will cause you to lose control of your ATV.
