First, determine your face shape: oval, round, oblong, square, diamond, or heart. The easiest way to determine which face shape you have is to grab a piece of soap and outline your face in the mirror. If you drew a circle, you have a round face and so on.

Oval: considered the ideal shape. Lucky you! You can wear your hair any way you want it: short, long, wavy, curly, straight, it doesn't matter! All the different haircut styles in the world to choose from! So pick your best facial feature and highlight it. If you have great eyes, you might opt for side swept bangs. Or try a bob if you have great cheekbones. Avoid styles that cover your perfect shape!

3
Round: You'll want to make your face thinner and longer. If you want bangs, make sure they are long or side swept. You will look best in shorter hairstyles, especially just below the chin. Layers would look great and make your have slimmer. Try a layered shag cut. Avoid curly hair.

Oblong: Your objective: make your face appear more balanced and shorter. To add width, opt for a chin length bob. Bangs that reach your eyebrows will work wonders. Curls and waves add definition to the hair as well as adding width. Avoid long hairstyles though, they'll just make your face seem even longer.
-
5
Square: Soften all the angles by making your hair move. Add waves or curls, build height. Spikey new hairstyles work well too. Have your hair cut so it's angled not straight across as that will make your face seem even more square.

Diamond: Your hair will need to balance your narrow chin. Wide bangs will make your face seem move oval. A chin length bob will look great. Wispy hairstyles work too. This face shape is the closest to the desired oval shape so you can play around with more hairstyles than other face shapes. Try having your hair at your shoulders with feathered edges.
-
7
Heart: You need curly or wavy hair. Chin length. You could try side swept bangs to draw the eyes from your angular jaw. A pixie style would look great. Anything that adds fullness to the top.
