What is micromanage? To manage or control with excessive attention to minor details.
Bosses that micromanage all assignments leaving the employee without any room to showcase their work ethics or experiences can be difficult for an employee. There can be many factors why they micromanage it maybe they simply don't trust you, he/she is probably under a lot of pressure from his/her superiors, or its his/her way of being. Most employers seem not to understand that they are driving their employees away by seeking other employment opportunities. Here are some tips to avoid your micro manger.

Check yourself, don't give your boss any reason to hover over you.

Be proactive complete all your assignments on time and by priorities. If you are done with your assignments don't fiddle your fingers once your are done with your assignments go to your boss or email him/her to see if there is any additional tasks that needs to be done.

If there is a problem, and no one seems to find a solution for it volunteer to assist in resolving the problem. If there was a mistake that you committed explain on how you learned from it and suggest on how you will resolve it from not happening again.

Ask your boss, why are you being supervised closely? Suggest to your boss to give you a chance to complete an assignment on your own. Once the assignment is finished go over it with your boss, here you'll find out the pros and cons of you working on your own. Evaluate the assignment create a system that works best for both without being micromanage.

Keep track of all your assignments and requests, daily and by email.

Wow, good concise advice. I like that. Sometimes micromanagers just need to do it themselves!!! Or maybe they're power freaks... either way, I agree with you.. keep them informed by email, stay ontop your own job, and ask them why they supervise you so closely. That would probably be hard to do,, but with tactful wording it could be a win win situation. Thanks.. 5* -
