Step 1
First, you need to know what type of coverage you want. If you already have insurance on your car, you may just want to see if you can get the same or similar coverage at a cheaper price from a different company. Whether you want to increase, decrease, or keep the same amount of coverage, it helps if you know exactly what type of insurance you currently have, so that you can easily compare it to the quotes you'll be getting.
-
Step 2
If you already have an insurance company in mind, you can simply call them or visit their website to see if they offer free quotes. If you would like to have quotes from a variety of companies, there are sites that you can visit that provide a list of several companies, and you can get a free car insurance quote from each one. There is a link to one of these sites in the Resources section below this article.
-
Step 3
In order to get a quote, you'll have to provide the company with some information. You will need to give them some basic personal information about yourself, such as your name, age, address, etc. You'll also need to provide the same information about any other people who will be driving your car.
-
Step 4
You will need to give them some information about your vehicle as well, such as make, model, year, your vehicle identification number, the number of miles your car has on it, how much you drive it, and so on.
-
Step 5
After you provide the company with your information, you should receive your free quote quickly, usually within minutes.
