Simply talk to family, friends, co-workers, church members, etc. and mention to them what you are looking for. This is usually a great way to get clothing free. In my family there is always someone that has outgrown clothing, gained or lost weight, etc. or would like to get rid of closet clutter.If you have a close friend or family member that wears the same size, rotate clothing. This is a great way to expand your wardrobe. If you are looking for children's clothing network with other moms and rotate clothing.

Go to thrift stores like, Good Will, Salvation Army, or other non-profit thrift stores that support various causes. A lot of these stores sell name brand clothing in great shape for a fraction of the retail price. When you shop these stores always ask when they shock their shelves, that way you will know when they will have the best selection.
Another great way to find nice used clothing is church or school rummage sells. The last day of the sell they usually have a bag day to get rid of the left over items. It's usually only a dollar a bag.
There is even a thrift store in my neighborhood that has 10 cent day.

If you don't mind waiting you can usually find some pretty awesome deals on name brand items. The key to getting the best deal on ebay is to by off season. Plan on buying your summer clothing in the middle or winter and vice versa.

Try to stick with basics and classic pieces if you are on a limited budget. Stay away from trendy pieces that will quickly go out of style and don't really coordinate well.
Always check for rips, stains and missing buttons and if you can't try something on, ask about the stores return policy to avoid losing money on something that doesn't fit.
