Whether it's the holidays, work, or daily activities, stress can cause aching muscles and a tense body that needs relaxation. Epsom salt is the answer. Take a bath in Epsom salt and feel yourself relax.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Draw a warm bath. You want to plan an evening when there is nothing planned and you can relax. Plan on twenty minutes or more for the bath and a few hours for relaxation after the bath. The best time for the bath is at bedtime.

  2. Step 2

Add two cups of Epsom salt to the bath water while the tub is filling. Epsom salt is magnesium and sulfate that will draw out toxins, relax your muscles, improve your blood circulation, sooth aching joints, and reduce any inflammation.

  3. Step 3

Add a few drops of essential oil such as lavender oil or eucalyptus. This is optional, but the oil will have an aromatherapy effect to help relieve the stress.

  4. Step 4

Soak for twenty minutes. After the bath, relax for a few hours before bedtime. This is a good time to read a book or journal. You will notice how relaxed you are and how good your body feels.

Tips & Warnings
  • Try this three times a week. The magnesium from the Epsom salt is essential for the binding of serotonin, a chemical needed for a sense of well-being.
  • Don't add additional soap to the water. Let the Epsom salt penetrate your skin.
