Slim is in with skinny jeans. But what if you can’t commit? Make skinny jeans out of your flare jeans without sewing. You'll get two pair of jeans for the price of one. Plus, who wants their toosh to get that kind of attention all the time? With these easy steps you can switch back to your flared jeans without going shopping.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Knee High Boots or Ankle Boots, Flat or With Heels
  • Socks
  • Flare Jeans
  • Leggings (for Ankle Boot owners)
  1. Step 1

PUT ON YOUR FLARE JEANS.Skinny jeans are... well... skinny. At the ankle. So think silhouette. If your flare jeans are snug at the knee, it's easy to narrow the ankle down. You just need some devices.

  2. Step 2

PUT ON YOUR KNEE SOCKS. Skinny jeans are a moments away. Keep the knee socks at your ankles. Wrap the flared portion of your jeans around your leg. Now pull up the socks over your pants. Yes. Your ankles just got skinny.

  3. Step 3

GRAB YOUR KNEE HIGH BOOTS and put them on. The higher the better for your boots. We need the bulky part of the pant and sock hidden, especially if the socks aren't ready for the light of day. Have fun with the look by adding contrasting print or colored socks. Let them peek out the top of the boot, if that's your style. Feeling skinny?

  4. Step 4

ANKLE BOOT OWNERS. Here's an 80's flashback tip if you have fun ankle boots, use leg warmers to cover the undesirable. Even a baggy ankle boot can be fun, provided you use leggings to cover your socks. Or double the socks. Or stack two leggings on each leg for a Nordic tribute.

Tips & Warnings
  • Larger Toosh Owners. Sure, you'll never give up the flare jeans because they're so flattering to the female figure. But don't you want some variety? Quit thinking that you can't wear skinny jeans. The normal skinny jean with flats look will always send our eyes upward. Why? Because we're bored. Think of it this way, drawing attention to a decorated leg draws attention away from a full toosh.
  • Bootless Skinny Jean Version: Use a chunkier wedge heel and legging. Cut off the feet of cool pair of socks and create knee tubes to hold the flare together.

on 12/30/2008 This is a great idea -- I simply can't see myself owning skinny jeans except to wear with boots, so this'll save me some $$$. Thanks!
