How to Apply Liquid Foundation Evenly
The proper application of liquid foundation is essential if you want to achieve a natural, no-makeup look. Uneven application can lead to telltale streaks or a visible line along your chin. Things You'll Need
- Exfoliating cleanser
- Toner
- Moisturizer
- Foundation brush
- Translucent powder
- Powder brush
- Concealer (optional)

Wash your face with an exfoliating cleanser containing microbeads or crushed apricot kernels. This will remove the dead surface skin cells that can cause your foundation to look blotchy. Finish with a toner appropriate for your skin type and a light moisturizer. If desired, dot concealer under your eyes to hide any dark circles.

Pour a dime-sized amount of foundation onto the back of your hand.

Sweep the foundation brush back and forth through the foundation. Do this several times on each side of the brush to load it with foundation.

Paint the foundation onto your face, starting on the edges of your nose and working outward toward the edges of your face. Use short brushstrokes, blending as you go. Dot the brush gently under your eyes to blend in any concealer you may have used.

Brush on loose translucent powder with a large powder brush to set your foundation. Swirl the brush in the powder, tap off any excess on the side of the container and lightly brush the powder onto your skin in a circular motion, paying special attention to your jawline.
