How to Reduce Anxiety Naturally

Anxiety can strike anyone at anytime for no appearant reason. It is important to reduce anxiety before it gives way to extreme irritability, anger, a full blown panic attack, or otherwise adverse reaction(s). This article will give you a way to do this realitively quickly.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • soft soothing music
  • optional: calming herbs, teas or other homeopathic remedies
  • optional: Scented candles, oils or another aromatherapy item
  • optional: soft lighting such as a candle
  1. Step 1

    Optional: Take calming herbs and/or natural remedies to get you in the mood for relaxation like Kava, tea, passion flower, ect.

  2. Step 2

    Dim the lights or turn them off completely in order to acheive soft lighting. You can also use candle light.

  3. Step 3

    Optional: use scented oils or candles designed for aromatherapy.

  4. Step 4

    The next thing you'll want to do is turn on some calming music and play it softly.

  5. Step 5

    Sit in a comfortable chair and listen to the music (using earbuds is best to block out all other sounds). Try to imagine you are on vacation somewhere you long to go. As in the words of Peter Pan "Think happy thoughts"

  6. Step 6

    Take deep shallow breaths and calm your breathing. Do not release yourself until you have reached total calm and are ready to go about your day or evening.

Tips & Warnings
  • Record or purchase soothing music ahead of time so that you have it on hand whenever you need it
  • Try to collect items you know have a calming effect on you and keep them together so they can easily be found when you need them.
  • Do not take any herbal or other natural rememdy without first knowing that they do not infere with anything else you may be taking.
