Things You'll Need:
- Plain oatmeal flakes(uncooked) - remember this is just for fun and not, I repeat not, for human consumption. ONLY FOR REINDEER TO EAT!!!!
- Glitter in red, green and silver.
- Quart size see thru one-zip plastic storage bags, one for each child.
-
Step 1
Set up 2 large bowls across the table. Fill the 1st bowl with plain oatmeal flakes. Fill the 2nd bowl with all different colors of glitter mixed all together.
Give each child their own quart size plastic see thru one-zip storage bag and have them write their names on their bags. This is to avoid confusion and fights later on about who's bag is who's. Especially when they start spreading the mixture of reindeer food and one child is almost done with his/her mixture of reindeer food, but a younger child has a ton still in their bag and then the trouble begins. So parent's let's think ahead and stop the trouble before it starts so it can be a totally joyful experience!!! -
Step 2
Now Let each child put fistfuls of oatmeal and glitter in their own bags as to create their own reindeer food mixture. Remind them to zip the bags close and shake the mixture so their is a pretty combination of oatmeal and glitter.
-
Step 3
Now go outside and let the children open their bags and start spreading the reindeer food along the property boundaries you have set. Don't worry the mixture will be easily swept away and it does not have any candy or sugar in it so it will not attract ants or any other insects to your property. Merry Christmas to all!!!
