Here’s a few ideas for making extra money on the side…

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions
  1. Step 1

The recession of 2008 has hit our country hard and you may need to make a little extra cash in order to make ends meet. Below you'll find a few ideas for making more money during an economic recession. These are jobs that are needed regardless of the country or world's financial distress.

    On the Internet:

Writing Articles - There are several great websites online that allow you to write articles on any subject of your choosing and you actually make money! BUT, don’t expect to write 1 article and make millions. You’ll need to write several GOOD QUALITY articles in order to make any substantial money. (Substantial being a couple hundred dollars a month) Be sure to check out eHow and Associated Content to learn how you can write for their websites and earn residual money every month!

  2. Step 2

Sell Your Junk - I’m sure if you look around your home or garage you’ll find many things you no longer need or use. Sell your unwanted stuff on eBay or Craigslist to make some extra cash. Big Name and Big Screen items always sell best, Electronics and Collectibles are right up there and believe it or not used clothing is a hot seller, especially for babies and children!

  3. Step 3

Sell Your Crafts - Are you creative? Artistic? Sell you wares on crafting websites such as Etsy, Handmade Fusion and iCraft. There is a huge draw for homemade and handmade items of all kinds!

  4. Step 4

    Off the Internet:

Landscaping - Put up a few flyers in a ritzy neighborhood offering to mow lawns, weed whack, trim the hedges, etc. Even when they are broke, some people would rather pay someone else to do these things than do them on their own. Take advantage of this need for quick, easy cash!

  5. Step 5

Babysitting - People have to work. Most have no choice, so if you love children, help them out by offering to baby-sit odd hours, when regular daycare centers aren’t open. For example, most daycare centers are not open on weekends, however, many jobs don’t end simply because it’s the weekend. You could easily bring in a few hundred dollars a month just babysitting on the weekends. Be sure to check your local regulations on this. Some states and counties do require certain qualifications to provide babysitting services.

  6. Step 6

Craft Shows - If you are crafty, check out your local newspaper for craft shows or flea markets in your area. This is a great way to show off your creativity while making money doing something you really love. Combine this with selling on crafting websites and use each to advertise the other.

  7. Step 7

Snow Plow - Do you already own a snow plow for plowing your own driveway? Put it to work! Offer to plow neighbors driveways all winter long. Depending on where you live, this could become a very profitable side job.

These are just a few ideas for making extra cash, however, they are big needs, even during a recession. Now, get out there and get to work!
