Things You'll Need:
- 1 volleyball
- 2 hockey nets
- some hockey goalie equipment
- some friends
- a gym/indoor court
-
Step 1
Divide the players into 2 teams. Each team needs a goalie and have equal number of players. You can have as many people play as you want. If you have a youth basketball team, they may enjoy this "change of pace".
-
Step 2
Ensure that goalie is wearing proper protective sports equipment.
-
Step 3
Play the game like basketball. Dribble, pass, use your pivot foot, but instead of shooting into a basketball hoop, throw the volleyball into a hockey net.
-
Step 4
If the goalie blocks the shot, he can throw the volleyball back to his teammates or as far away from his goal as he can.
-
Step 5
To win, you can either choose to play until one team reaches 10 goals, or put a time limit on it.
-
Step 6
Make sure you have fun with it. Any penalties called on a player, if you choose to, can have the player sit out-of-bounds for 10 seconds and do 10 push-ups to come back in.

on 12/10/2008 Sounds like a great game, esp for younger children who may not be ready for basketball yet. 5*

on 12/10/2008 Kinda worried about the poor animal there for a minute. What a wonderful way to work off some extra energy.
