Things You'll Need:
- 1/4 teaspoon cream of tarter
- 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
- a few dashes of cinnamon
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups white sugar
- 1 egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 sour cream

Step 1
Sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, nutmeg, and cream of tarter. Set aside.

In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar until smooth. Beat in the egg, vanilla, and sour cream until well blended. Stir in the sifted ingredients from step one. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and chill overnight.

Preheat oven to 275. On a lightly floured surface, roll to 1/4" thick. Cut into shapes with cookie cutters. Place 1.5" apart on an ungreased cookie sheet.

Bake 8-10 minutes. Allow to cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before removing to a wire rack to cool completely.
