Easy vegan chestnut dessert

You'll be the star of your vegan dinner when you make this easy 10 minute easy vegan dessert. Believe it or not, the flavor is reminiscent of Cinnabon cinnamon rolls. Just make sure you don't tell anyone the secret of your cream sauce.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 15 oz. jar chestnuts, or 32 cooked chestnuts
  • 1 pint Freezees No-Butter Pecan non-dairy frozen dessert
  • 2 TBS mirin rice wine
  • 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
  • parchment paper
  1. Step 1

Lay a sheet of parchment paper on a cookie sheet. Place the chestnuts on the cookie sheet and heat in the oven on 375 for about 10 minutes. There is no need to preheat the oven.

  2. Step 2

While the chestnuts are warming in the oven, add about 8 tablespoons of Freezees to a small saucepan.

  3. Step 3

Add 2 tablespoons of mirin rice wine to the Freezees.

  4. Step 4

Add 1/4 tsp. cinnamon and heat the mixture on low for about 5 minutes. Let it thicken a little but not too much. The sauce is the star of this simple chestnut dessert.

  5. Step 5

When the chestnuts are finished, arrange 4 chestnuts per person on small dessert plates and drizzle about 1 tablespoon of the sauce on top of each serving.

  6. Step 6

Serve immediately. This dessert is best served warm.

  7. Step 7

Variation: to make a slightly different easy vegan dessert, don't thicken the sauce and instead puree it with the chestnuts to make chestnut pudding.
