Things You'll Need:
- helicopter
- 4 D batteries
-
Step 1
Get yourself a vintage helicopter. If you already have one, make sure the controller has 4 working "D" batteries. You can buy vintage helicopters on various sites including eBay and old toy stores in your local neighborhood.
-
Step 2
Typically, vintage helicopters are attached to a rod just shy of a few feet. They are attached with a string (don't worry it's included in the set up!) Other kinds can be without the string and use AA batteries. Check the requirements on your helicopter's box.
-
Step 3
Once your batteries are in place, use the controller to fly the helicopter round and round in circles and to do swoops. This involves pushing the joystick slightly down (towards yourself) and then back up to give the helicopter a up and down flow. Depending on the controller, your helicopter may be able to go backwards and do tumbles and other tricks as well. Experiment!
